The World Wide Web has never been the same after the launch of YouTube. It became the most popular video sharing website in no time and with the large hits it receives a day and thousands of videos are being uploaded daily, it’s no wonder why a lot of internet users visit the site regularly for various reasons and most importantly for entertainment.

YouTube has lots of different videos that can make you laugh, make you cry, make you learn a few things or get updated with the latest happenings. YouTube is complete and you can spend thousands of hours just browsing through their huge video archives. And not only that, YouTube is a growing community as well. With more people signing up and joining in on the fun by uploading videos and posting comments on other videos and creating their own YouTube community, it’s incredibly easy to make friends with fellow YouTubers especially if you come and join them on their annual YouTube gatherings.

Lots of people have been discovered in YouTube. There are several well-known YouTubers who have earned their popularity by the videos they upload. YouTubers who have earned their fame are Happyslip, KevJumba, and a lot more like Brookers who had signed a deal because of her wacky YouTube videos. It’s amazing how many people who get to watch videos on YouTube. Have you heard of Charlene Pempengco? She’s a young girl who suddenly got a Hollywood fame after Ellen DeGeneres saw one of her performance and got mesmerized by the quality of her voice that can beat Mariah Carey or even Whitney Houston. After a few songs in the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Charlene signed record deals and has even performed in Oprah where she also got a standing ovation. Because of the sudden popularity of people discovered in YouTube, it’s no wonder why more and more people are actually joining in and uploading their own self-made videos in the hopes of becoming a star too. Of course, with lots of competition, it’s not always promised. With more original uploaded videos in YouTube, the more enjoyable the video browsing is for its daily visitors.

From February 15, 2005, YouTube has gone a long way and had developed an incredible popularity that is very hard to beat. Many websites are trying to duplicate the popularity of YouTube but none has triumphed. People have inculcated the name YouTube in their minds already every time they think of browsing online videos and therefore, the many other websites offering the same services all seems like copy-cats and nothing more.

Of course with a website this big, it’s not always easy to moderate all the videos being uploaded and several copyrighted videos can still pass through their strict moderating team and some private videos have been uploaded as well. Cases had been filed but YouTube is not the one responsible for this mistake but the uploader themselves. Immediately these flagged videos are deleted by YouTube’s team of moderators to prevent any further viewing.

Some videos are not intended for younger audience and therefore you would need to confirm that you are 18 years or older in order for you to get permission to view these videos. These videos are not obscene but a little bit of vulgarity or excessive violence are present which is why younger viewers should not be permitted to view them. Non-members can not access these videos too so it really limits the number of viewers who gets to watch them. No obscene videos with an X rating are permitted in YouTube and they immediately get deleted and the member who uploaded them can be banned from YouTube as well.

Subscribing to your favorite YouTube member is a great way to keep yourself updated with the latest videos being uploaded by your favorite member. Of course, this feature is only available to YouTube members who has signed up and logged in. Every time that YouTube member has uploaded a new video, every time you log in to YouTube, the welcome page will show you the recently uploaded videos by members you have subscribed to. This feature is great for fame-addict YouTubers too because it keeps their viewers watching their every uploaded video.

With YouTube’s image as a stepping stone for many wannabe celebrities, it’s no longer unexpected that YouTube Video Awards had been created. It’s a great way for YouTube to celebrate their popularity and for keeping their members to make more great videos that are of great quality and keeps the viewers entertained. Receiving an award from YouTube is like receiving your very own Oscar and it’ll keep you into making more and more quality videos so the next time you would get even more awards.

With YouTube’s popularity and incredibly easy interface, it’s expected that they would still be the most popular video sharing website for many more years to come.
